Support Local Hero’s

Objective: To show appreciation and support for the local heroes in your community who make a difference every day.

Description: The “Support Local Heroes” initiative is about recognizing and celebrating the individuals who contribute significantly to the safety, health, and well-being of your community. These heroes could be firefighters, healthcare workers, teachers, law enforcement officers, or anyone who serves the public. This activity involves organizing efforts to show gratitude and offer support to these invaluable community members.

Guidelines:

  1. Identify Local Heroes: Start by identifying who your local heroes are. They could be individuals or groups within public service sectors.
  2. Plan Your Support: Decide how you would like to show your support. This could range from writing thank you cards, preparing care packages, organizing a community event to honor them, or even a social media appreciation campaign.
  3. Gather Community Involvement: Encourage others in your community to participate. There’s strength in numbers, and a larger group can make a bigger impact.
  4. Deliver Your Message of Thanks: Coordinate how and when you’ll deliver your messages of appreciation and support. Ensure it’s done respectfully and at a convenient time for them.
  5. Share Your Story: Inspire others by sharing your experience on Chances.org. Let others know how you supported your local heroes and the impact it had.

Impact: Supporting local heroes goes beyond showing gratitude; it strengthens community bonds and highlights the importance of service and sacrifice. It reminds those who work tirelessly for our safety and well-being that their efforts are noticed and valued.

Kindness has a beautiful way of multiplying. Share something thoughtful you recently did for another person, your community, animals, or the planet. Your story does not need to be grand, even the smallest act of kindness may inspire someone else to do good today.

One or two short lines about a kind thing you did. Please leave out names, links, and contact information. Every message is read before it appears.

A personal note from Amelia, click to open Chances.org has been run by one volunteer, me, since 1999. Here's how you can help keep it going. Read my letter Close my note

Hello, it's me, Amelia Carrie. I have been running and updating Chances.org since 1999, for free. I pay for the software, hosting, maintenance, apps, and more. That's more than 25 years of my life devoted to doing something I love.

However, the fact is that I am a senior now and due to having to compete with AI for computer graphics work, I can no longer afford to run this site on my own. I need your help, not only to keep it online, but to keep it growing. That's why I am updating Chances.org with a Donate button and a Supporters page.

If you can't afford either, you can still help for free by using the sharing buttons below. Thank you!

With gratitude,
Amelia Carrie

For investors and dreamers: If you are an investor with the means to help Chances.org grow as big as Change.org or GoFundMe, please write to me at ChancesCharity@Gmail.com.

And if you have great plans and ambition, I may even let you take this site over, because everybody deserves a chance.

You can't have change without chances!
