25 Years of Chances: A Note from the Heart

1999–2024

Twenty-five years ago, the internet was a very different place. When I first registered Chances.org, I had a simple vision: to create a corner of the digital world where people could champion one another. I didn’t have a giant board of directors, a corporate sponsor, or a high-society gala. I just had a belief that without chances, there is no change.

For a quarter of a century, I have kept this site running as a personal labor of love. I have never collected a penny from it, and I never will. In a world where everything is for sale, I wanted to ensure that hope and kindness are always free.

Why I’m Still Here

Over the years, “Chances” has worn many hats—affirmations, resources, stories, and local community support. But the mission remains the same: to fight for the underdog.

We often think that “doing good” belongs to the rich, the famous, or the highly qualified. But if these 25 years have taught me anything, it’s this:

  • Real good happens in small ways. It’s the flyer made for a neighbor, the free website for a local club, or the silent prayer for someone in the news.
  • You are qualified to help. You don’t need a title to be a role model or to bring light into a dark room.
  • Integrity is the best legacy. ### To My Visitors, Friends, and “Underdogs” Thank you for being part of this 25-year journey. Whether you are here to Get a Chance or Give a Chance, know that your presence matters.

As I look forward to the next chapter, I invite you to believe in yourself a little more today. Don’t wait for someone else to “do the good”—go out and be the chance that someone else is waiting for.

With love and hope,

Amelia Carrie / Founder
