Doctors Without Borders, also known by its French name Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), is an independent international medical humanitarian organization. Its teams of doctors, nurses, and other staff provide emergency medical care in places affected by war, epidemics, natural disasters, and lack of health care, in dozens of countries around the world.
MSF is known for going where help is hardest to reach, and for speaking out about the suffering its teams witness. Most of its funding comes from individual donors, which helps it stay independent.
Ways to get involved
You can support MSF's work with a donation, by hosting a fundraiser, or by sharing their stories. Medical professionals, as well as people in logistics, finance, and other fields, can apply to work in the field. Learn more at DoctorsWithoutBorders.org.
